Being in an industry that is first to close and last to reopen during every MCO, weeks led to months and it really did put a financial strain on the business.

While complying with MCO SOPs, POSH decided to raise the bar in sanitisation by utilising high tech Ultraviolet-C (UV-C) lamps as a proactive health measure. Our salons are equipped with UV-C lighting that disinfects and sterilises the outlets each night.

UV-C light is known to kill or inactivate micro-organisms, such as bacteria, viruses, mould and other pathogens, in air and water systems. Its application to disinfect has been an accepted practice since the mid-20th century and is used primarily in the medical sector. It has, over time, been used to sterilise drinking water, and has found uses in air purifiers.

POSH is believed to be the first nail spa in Malaysia to install UV-C lighting for disinfection and sterilisation. In anticipation of the continued presence of Covid-19 and possible variants, we reckon this proactive approach can help to reassure customers that the salon is putting its strongest foot forward in terms of protection for everyone who walks through our doors.

The UV-C lights are activated after business hours, bathing the salon in blue throughout the night. Along with the enforcement of other precautionary measures such as the use of disinfecting mist machines, face masks, hand sanitisers, temperature screening and social distancing, you can be rest assured safety is our priority, and quality is our standard.
